Local Info

Over the last forty years Seattle has grown from a small port city into a large metropolis. Residents are blessed with picturesque scenery and relatively mild weather all year round. The metro area supports all of the urban amenities you'd expect from a big city while the surrounding countryside offers a wide range of outdoor activities.

The quality of life we enjoy in the Pacific Northwest goes along way toward explaining why the region is thriving, with more growth and prosperity expected far into the future.

Some of my favorite local places or activities: seattle aquarium, pacific science center, point defiance zoo & aquarium, local art galleries, farmer's markets, book readings, specialty nurseries, support the huskies, hike in a national park, visit an island, explore Washington State, watch movies, movies, movies, and when weather permits in-city kayaking.

For a good quick overview and general facts about the city and the city's history I suggest the Wikipedia entry for Seattle.
